Cala Marquesa
Baix Empordà
Series of 4 Wet plate collodion triptychs – Ferrotypes
2018 -2020

The collodion technique is an early photographic process dating back to 1851. Collodion requires an extensive darkroom preparation, as each metal plate is immersed in a solution of silver nitrate to form silver iodide. This complex process includes coating, sensitizing, exposing and developing with filigrane attention. As a result each plate is a one-of-a-kind positive, with unique image clarity and details.

Wet plate collodion – ferrotype, signed and dated on verso, wood frame, triptych 43 x 73 cm, edition of 8 + 2 AP, each unique
