FORMATION

Jörg Bräuer (1966) born in Germany, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology (New York) and LCP (The London College of Printing).

Early in his life Bräuer found a mentor for his passion in photography and painting.
At the age of 16, he was given his start with traditional hands-on darkroom printing techniques. He has come a long way, today he applies the same skills, merging them with contemporary photography methods, creating his exquisites prints. The aesthetic of Bräuer’s photographs have a painterly quality revealing subtle details as well as great depth and contrast. His compositions elaborate a strong sense of the relations between light and form.

Bräuer focuses on architecture, landscape and still life photography with a rather subtle and silent approach; in search of revealing the restrained beauty that inhabits the mystic and unknown of his scenario. His work has often been described as poetic and over the years his stylistic sensibility shows both the strength of content and artistic grace.

Bräuer started his career as graphic designer at the prestigious Pentagram design studios in New York. Upon returning to Europe he founded and art directed studios in London and Barcelona. In 2009 he set base in Brussels co-founding byNOW, a creative association dedicated to complete image solutions. Bräuer´s specialty is the combination of photography and art direction.
